The Green Lantern Smudge

I started this sig.. Don't really like the outcome though..

I like the left side smudge,right side looks like jelly.
Black spot,text,and a box with a character in it fit perfectly.

Maybe the smudge looks too blurry too,but I like it,it's my 'style'.
I'm not good at smudging so I don't have any tips.
